No. MiruList hosts, streams and embeds nothing. It is a directory: every “Watch” link points to an official, licensed service such as Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu, HIDIVE, Prime Video, Disney+ or Max. When a title has no legal source in your region, the page says so plainly rather than sending you elsewhere.

Yes. Browsing, searching, tracking, recommendations and episode notifications are all free, and there are no ads. You still need your own subscription to whichever streaming service carries a show.

Availability is aggregated per title, service and region, with attribution to JustWatch where their data is used. Catalog metadata, relations and airing schedules come from AniList, supplemented by Kitsu and TMDB. Entries are refreshed by scheduled background jobs, so a brand-new licensing deal can take a short while to appear.

Yes. Import runs as a preview-then-commit job: MiruList shows you exactly what it matched and what it will write before anything lands in your library, so a bad match can't quietly overwrite your scores or progress.

A taste profile is built from your library — genres, ranked tags, studios, source material, demographic and staff — weighted by status and score, with dropped titles counting as a negative signal. That is blended with the AniList recommendation graph, friend signals and popularity. Every recommendation explains itself, e.g. “Because you rated X highly” or “Shares Action / Revenge with titles you rated highly”.

Yes, for titles on your Watching or Plan-to-Watch lists. Notifications are in-app, respect your timezone and region, and can be muted globally or per title in Settings.

You choose: public, friends-only (mutual follows) or private. The setting applies to your profile, lists and activity feed, and activity events store the visibility they were written with, so tightening your privacy doesn't leave older activity exposed.
